As an industrialist, Rajagopal has brought to life several industries, creating job opportunities to thousands of people both directly & indirectly.
Prior to joining politics, he has helped nearly 6000 physically challenged people by giving away artificial limbs, tricycles, hearing aids etc through his brainchild LANCO Institute of General Humanitarian Trust (LIGHT).
Besides alleviating the lives of few thousands of people with special needs, he has been pivotal in building bus shelters, temples & providing water facilities in nearly 300 villages of Vijayawada Parliamentary Constituency.
He has contributed liberally to Kargil widow’s funds, extended his industry’s might to the Gujarat Earthquake victims, has been a constant support to pulse polio programme & contributed actively to the Red Cross Society.
After officially venturing into politics, during December 2003 he had accompanied Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in his 1500 km ‘padayatra’, lending a patient ear to farmers and the common man.
His love for meeting people & acquiring first hand knowledge about their basic needs has been reflected in his ‘Bapuji Samadharshana Yatra’, when he had toured almost all of the 550 villages in his Parliamentary Constituency.
In fact, his penchant for meeting people at grass-root levels still continues.
